Thriving Earth Farm is a small 18-acre farmstead located 15 minutes northwest of downtown Nashville in the heart of a vibrant young farming community. We raise goats for meat/dairy, chickens for meat/eggs, honeybees, log-grown mushrooms including shiitake and nameko, a variety of vegetables, and have just begun to establish a diverse fruits orchard. Our land use is inspired by permaculture and biodynamic principles. A significant portion of our land is a 20-year-old overgrown woodland that was once pasture which we strive to manage using eco-forestry practices. Forest projects in the works include creation of silvo-pasture, mushroom log cultivation, livestock production, and use of woody materials for building & craft purposes.
